NAIDOC in the City
July 13 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
NAIDOC in the City is a free celebration of the world’s longest living Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, through food, song, art, dance and stories in the heart of the city.
Now in its seventh year, NAIDOC in the City will see some of Australia’s most renowned Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and dancers take to the stage.
There’ll also be an earth oven and Indigenous themed food stalls, a healing tent, a marketplace selling local Indigenous art, craft and produce, weaving and jewellery-making workshops and a gallery of artworks that interpret this year’s NAIDOC Week theme.
The City of Sydney is proud to support NAIDOC Week, which runs from 7–14 July 2019. This year’s national NAIDOC Week theme ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future’ reflects the three key elements set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
2019 is also the United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages.
