Once upon a time Surry Hills was a thriving LIVE MUSIC community that nurtured Australia’s most successful performing artists. 

Our music culture was the envy of the world.

Then… inner city gentrification, pokies, crazy government regulations and finally… lock-out laws. Pubs closed, or shut their stages and it became almost impossible for emerging artists to find a gig.  But it’s all starting to change.

Now, we’re taking live music back for Surry Hills.  

The Surry Hill Creative Precinct has joined forces with The City of Sydney and Music For Trees to create Surry Hills Live. 

We’re filming gigs and promoting them online so we can share the love; persuade people off the couch and into pubs; and show venues that live music works!

But we need your help!

Surry Hills Live has evolved into SURRY HILLS LIVE STREAMING!

In response to concern about public safety at live music venues in light of the pandemic Surry Hills Creative Precinct and Music for Trees  are now streaming all shows online. For an incredible new LIVE experience – and you won’t even need to leave your couch.

Simply head to Surry Hills Live Facebook page and tune in from 7:30pm.

There will be as much of the original line-up of bands as possible, special guests – and beer!

You will be able to comment and interact as if we were all in the same room together.This will be a crazy / fun new experience and we can’t wait to have you along on the ride!
