Here at the Surry Hills Creative Precinct, we have returned with our Covid Recovery interview series designed for the digital landscape of today. Hosted by our fantastic Vice President Mike Galvin, we have created another series to broadcast LIVE every two weeks.

Please join us by watching on Facebook for the LIVE broadcast from downtown Surry Hills at the JJSplice Digital studios on Tuesday, November 3rd at 4:00pm.

In this series, we explore the different ways that small business operators have adapted to deal with Covid and what plans they have for summer 2021. We talk recovery strategy, practical ideas for surviving these changes, and we answer your questions live. This is a good opportunity to connect with other local business owners in the dynamic virtual space.

On this episode we will be joined by:

Brad Wright – Former Head of Venue & Programs at Harbour Trust Authority

Brad’s career in the events and creative industry spans 25 years with significant roles in the private, not for profit, State and Federal Governments. He has worked on most of Sydney’s major events including Sydney NYE, Christmas in Sydney, VIVID and has lots of stories to tell from his time at Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in the role of Party Producer and Major Events Producer.

Liz Clark – Founder of Liz Clark Events

Liz Clark is a passionate boutique event curator and project manager, who with 15 years experience, carefully crafts ideas into unique event experiences. Liz Clark has worked for international Fortune 500 firms building her event expertise to the best in services one-stop-shop for event planning with personalisation and enthusiasm. From New York City to Sydney, as concierge to chief of staff, Liz’s cross-culture experience flows through into her work and sensibilities, drawing on experience from her travels and knowledge around the world.

Dave Willey – Director of The Aussie Man Skincare range

Dave is an experienced event professional and marketer with over 15 years of experience working in events and experiential activations. He’s had the pleasure of working with brands such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Spotify, Redbull, Nike & MTV. The Aussie Man is a men’s natural skincare company, that Dave started in reaction to the events industry turmoil during COVID.

Jess Scully – Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney and author of Glimpses of Utopia

Elected to the City of Sydney as part of Clover Moore’s Independent Team in 2016. Jess focuses on key issues including supporting the revitalisation and growth of Sydney’s night time ecology, exploring new models to address the housing crisis, nurturing the transition to the workforces and workplaces of the future and protecting our digital rights in the public realm.

We may have a couple of extra guests who are yet to be announced, so make sure you join us on the Surry Hills Creative Precinct Facebook page to find out.
